A practice that is built into the way an organization actually operates.

Most leadership development stops at inspiration. A great keynote, a powerful workshop, a book that changes how you think — and then Monday morning arrives, and nothing has changed. CHL is different. We work at the intersection of research and implementation, helping organizations move from understanding hope to actually living it.

Everything we do is grounded in the same three pillars that define Hopeful Leadership: Goals that are clear and compelling, Pathways that are strategic and flexible, and Agency that is cultivated at every level of the organization.

CHL’s work spans four interconnected areas — each one essential to building a field, not just a brand.

Research and Field Building

Hope Theory has been studied for decades — but its application to organizational leadership, systems change, and cross-sector practice is still emerging. CHL is building that field.

We conduct and curate research, publish accessible frameworks, and contribute to the growing body of evidence that hope is not just a personal virtue — it is an organizational strategy.

Understanding Hopeful Leadership is one thing. Building it into your culture, your strategy, and your systems is another. This is where most organizations need the most support — and where CHL does some of its most meaningful work.

We partner with nonprofits, public agencies, and educational institutions to assess their current hope capacity, identify the barriers, and co-create a roadmap for sustainable change.

Youth Leadership Development

Through fellowships, mentorship, and certification programs, we invest in young people who are ready to lead — and in the adults and institutions that surround them. Our goal: certify 100 youth leaders in our first five years.

Young people are not the leaders of tomorrow — they are leaders right now. CHL’s youth programs are built on the belief that goals, pathways, and agency are not adult concepts. They are human ones.

Whether we are delivering a keynote or co-designing a three-year organizational strategy, our process is grounded in the same values: listen deeply, build together, and leave the organization stronger than we found it.

We co-create an approach that fits your organization — not a generic program, but a strategy built for your context.

3

We walk alongside you through implementation — providing facilitation, coaching, and real-time problem-solving.

CHL is a national think-and-do tank — which means we hold ourselves accountable to both the quality of our ideas and the depth of our impact. Here is what we are working toward.
